Lost in Tokyo
Photography| Moving Image
TUA Open Studio, Tokyo
Tokyo, as a highly developed modern metropolis, symbolizes the complexity of a globalized society, with its spaces intertwined with capital, power, and social relations. Lefebvre's theory of urban space highlights that city spaces are not only physical environments but also shaped by economic, cultural, and social forces. For me, the images of Tokyo Tower and fireworks not only depict the city's external scenery but also reflect my inner confusion and hope. Despite the exhaustion from jet lag and illness, the city's vitality and the fleeting beauty of the fireworks allowed me to connect with my inner emotions. Tokyo became a space where I rediscovered a sense of vitality in my solitude.
